Another gourmet vegan restaurant/bar w/ all of the pretentiousness of LA. The food was not impressive at all, especially for all the hype this chef gets. And extra emphasis on "gourmet." ;-)

The rubin sandwich is honestly better than the original. I give this to meat eaters when they visit me, all of them have love it. Carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting is really good, too.
The menu is extensive & painstakingly labeled with dietary footnotes. Corn grain bread and millet bread is available, and pizza is completely gluten and nut free.
A bit expensive, but you're paying extra for the convenience of everything being vegan. I loved the cheese and frozen fish sections. I have never seen some of those faux fishes before!

It's pretty much as good as it sounds, Silver Lake + a farmer's market. My advice is save a few bucks to get records on your way out. You can also get thrift store gems.
