Enter the hall when the tour groups aren’t around and the walk around the reclining Buddha is more pleasant. At Buddha’s feet you can walk around the outside walls to avoid the photo crowd.
It’s crowded but it’s quick. Head in for a glimpse of the jade Buddha and take in the majesty of the hall and you can be off exploring the rest of the Grand Palace. Hats off before entering.
Crowded as it interchanges with BTS Asok. The ticket machines aren’t very touch responsive so this drags the transaction time, hence long queues.
Just get the public orange or gold flagged ferry if going to Wat Arun or Grand Palace. 20/15 baht. The tourist boat is way more expensive.
Not too much ice and the lapsang souchong milk tea tastes like nothing from the mass market brands. Gentle hints of sweetness in the tea. I’ll pick this anytime.
Very good and much quieter than the other coffee shops if you want to do some work or wait for your friends who are shopping at T21.
Large, comfortable shop with variety of textiles for your suits and shirts. Good service and not too pushy with sales. Clothes can be done in 4 days.

It’s quite cramped so queue in single file. Get ready coins for the 4 baht ferry to Wat Arun to make your life easier than waiting for the lady to rummage for change in her basket.
The smaller pier has the boat which goes back and forth Wat Arun and Tra Tien for just 4 baht. Careful when climbing the stairs.
Small and cosy place. Chill here in the evening after roaming around the Grand Palace area for a superb view of Wat Arun at sunset. You’ll get the view at indoors seating too.
The pepper is very spicy so order a small portion if you aren’t sure. It’s crazy eating this on a sweltering Bangkok evening. Pig innards and stomach well-prepared without the gamey smell.
This hidden place is fantastic. Great coffee and bar seats by the window watching the BTS and traffic go by. Meat sauce pasta was slightly overcooked though very tasty.
A movie experience like no other, be prepared for lots of shaking, flashing lights and whooshing gusts blown in your face. Wish the wind was warm instead of cold though. 55555
Short walk from Silom MRT or Sala Daeng BTS. Great tasting and inventive food from the chef. A casual and relaxed Chef’s Table, don’t expect anything too fancy.
Massage on the last day of your trip to relax before going home. Foot reflexology was great after all that walking around.
