Place with its own beat - brilliant combination of old and architecture, old and new shops and pubs

Plenty to see. Stall keepers are nice and friendly. Not pushy either. Prices vary and can get good bargains.

Lots of regular markets during the week but Sundays are best but don't forget to pop over to the Brick Lane area... Plenty more market stalls and food / bars

Perfect for finding bric a brac and little art pieces, and awesome independent clothing! Remember go on a Sunday! The Indonesian food stall is worth a try

In 1682 Spitalfields Market was established on Commercial Street under the ownership of John Balch. The market was known for its trade in silks and in fresh fruits and vegetables.

Keep an eye out for the schedule of free events at Spitalfields. If there's nothing on, grab a Square Pie - they're awesome

Call it commercial or gentrified or whatever... Spitalfields has still got it in my opinion. Would spend every lazy Sunday in the side streets if I could.

Come on Thursday and Friday for great antiques. Try the baked potatoes in the food court for £3.75 too!

This area gets its name from the fields of the hospital of St.Mary’s priory, founded in 1197 on the site of a Roman cemetery. It was demolished in the Reformation.

If you are around you shouldn't miss this newly renovated market. I like the mix of modern and historic buildings

A great place to go in the middle of the city. The shops are nice but the market a bit tacky.

Must come on a Sunday and wander through here and down Brick Lane. The chocolate brownies from a stall at this market are awesome :)

Amazing business area.

On Sunday at around 4.30pm most of the food goes half price or a lot cheaper. Time to stock up!
