Portland's first Chinese dim sum restaurant mixes the traditional (steamed pork buns, wonton soup) with the creative (pastrami egg rolls, bacon fried rice) in a hip environment.
bacon fried rice & pastrami egg roll both v. good; not just clever. We really liked the flounder tempura & the garlic green beans. Skip the lobster dumplings: too big, & ground lobster disappoints.
The lobsterbuns were fantastic. The slightly spicyaioli kicks it up a notch. The soup dumplings are also better than some I had in Asia dumpling houses. Worth the trip!
Food is amazing, but my drink was questionable at best. My server seemed a little checked out. The atmosphere, and amazing food quality made up for the over sights in service. I'll do take out!!!!
Many tasty but non traditional Chinese dishes. The soup dumplings have a healthy ratio of broth to meat. The char siubao are actually a faithful rendition of the classic.
