    don't wave your money around to get the bartenders' attention. they see you and will get to you when they're ready. be patient and they'll be nice to you.

    One time I came here with my iPad (alone) & a drunk dude behind me began touching my screen; the bartender, without a comment, immediately throws the guy out. I've never felt so respected in my life.

    Take a stroll up Divisadero and grab a stool and a bottle of fantastic beer here. Great crowd during the day--really welcoming place.

    For a place that tries it's hardest to be "chill" and "not pretentious" it was difficult for them to pull that off up on their high horse. Don't you dare order anything other than beer. They scream.

    Don't be intimidated by the bouncer or bartender...unless you're a hipster doofus. Both seem to have dealt with LOTS of hipsters and their patience has worn thin.

    The Pliny is amazing, but I recommend Blind Pig IPA. It's possible to drink a few of these and still be able to talk.
