The storm damaged and shut down many businesses. Inside the Pier 17 mall, some restaurants, shops and the food court are open. Come support.

Order your food clearly and make sure you get what you ordered and nothing extra. The food court likes to add items to your plate and charge you. Count your change from Nathan's, they short change.

Check out the Seaport on Tuesdays and Sundays for the small farmers' market there. Also, there is a ferry leaving from a nearby pier that goes to Ikea in Brooklyn.

Decent view of the Brooklyn Bridge, but skip the mall, if you can even call it that. It's basically just a bunch of shops that have cropped up around a large public restroom.

Don't buy beer on the pier! Instead roll up to the food court to the seafood place in the back! Ask for a large and get your $5 ready! Don't forget to tip!
