CITY GRITสิงหาคม 1, 2014Based on the name, we expected a dive bar versus the swank spot we walked into. Great vibes, live music and a ridiculous offering of craft cocktails make for a perfect way to wind down the night.
Be prepared to wait a bit - it's very popular, especially on weekends - but it's well worth it. Can't go wrong with a Vieux Carre, but trust your bartender! Tell them what you like and stand back

And they're half off during happy hour!

Order an Old Cuban before you go. ~Diplomatic Rum, lime juice, sugar, Angostura Bitters and muddled mint, topped w/ sparkling wine.
Still the best cocktails in town! That said, the interior no longer feels "clean" or kept up. Lots of deferred maintenance. (As of May, 2017.)
