Become a zoo member. It pays for itself with parking passes, discounts, and tickets for stuff like the train and children's zoo.

If you have young kids it's so worth it to get the family pass. It includes parking ($15) a lot of fun stuff like sea lion show, train, children's zoo. Also get 10% off at all food/gifts.

Hippos and penguins are a must see! If you like birds you'll love the collection in the bird house.
