Jennifer Yu: A longtime Chinatown staple who needs our support more than ever. $5.95 lunch special comes with a main, side rice and side soup. It really doesn’t get better than that (please don’t forget to tip!)
Jennifer Yu: My go to spot every time I’m feeling sick or it’s a rainy day. Tang jai jook (congee) with a side of yau tiu (dough stick). And gong chow ngau hor (beef chow fun).
Jennifer Yu: Curry beef brisket noodle soup. Roti canai. Hainanese chicken. If you’re with a group, the fish head curry casserole with a side of chicken-flavored rice.

Dane B: Definitely have to come back for the Big Tray Chicken, but I can say that the pork pancake is fantastic. Better than the pork burger at Xi'an. Crank it up to 11 with some of the chili oil on the side.
Jennifer Yu: One of the last old school Canto diners around. Get a few dim sum dishes, but my favorite is actually the steamed fish to go. Never hurts to grab some zong too.
Jennifer Yu: This place holds so many memories for me. Never a meal without their salt and pepper fried squid over rice with a runny egg. Other favs: sweet and sour fried pork chops. Garlic chicken. Beef chow fun.
Jennifer Yu: When this reopened last year, not sure what happened (new ownership? New chef?) but the Chinese BBQ became some of the neighborhood’s best. Suckling pig is perfection.

Jennifer Yu: I hope this place lasts forever. It’s the last Chinese bookstore in Chinatown. They have books in Chinese (including by American authors), calligraphy materials, Chinese language learning materials
Jennifer Yu: Chinatown’s oldest store still in operation. A great place for porcelain and a super sweet family-run business (now in its 5th generation!)

Jennifer Yu: A small Thai market truly tucked in Chinatown. You’ll find all the critical ingredients you need for Thai cooking (kaffir lime leaves, fresh lemongrass, etc.)

Jennifer Yu: Yes, the place could use a facelift. But the service is the friendliest, the coffee is actually good, and you can’t beat the price. I have never loved something so plain until I came across Silk Road.
