A pleasant place to go walking. Plus, the bridge has a really cool lighting thing at night. Did I mention moon floats during the summer? I like this place.
One of my favorite Des Moines recreational places, Gray's Lake is wonderful for walks, bird watching, and boating. When my children were young, we spent a lot of time at the beach!

If you're rollerblading, watch out for the tar! It'll trip you up if you're going too fast.
according to the DM parks' website, the total mileage if ur doing just the trail along the "Lake" is 1.9 miles.
Stop, stand at the end of the dock and simply take in the beauty of this lovely DSM oasis.

A relaxing time can be had on the peninsula during the summer months, just watch where you sit.
Distance around grays lake on the Internet says 2miles but I heard its 3mi.

Don't forget to grab a bad for your Dog's droppings!!
This is NOT the real Grays lake, get a grip!!!
We have measured a few times...it is closer to 1.9 miles around.
