Super friendly staff. Bit a long wait but entertaining enough watching the baristas. Amazing coffee. Great places outside in the sun too.

Don't worry about the queue, join it. It well worth the wait! Coffee is amazing, so is the French toast and poached eggs with polenta. Love this place!

Best coffee i ever tasted, the first that i liked more than Turkish COFFEE. The staff was helpfull. And the white haired cashier looks so mysterious.

Ask for a cortado which is called 'gibraltor' on the west coast. It's not on the menu, but they'll make it for you and make it great.

Coffee is different and awesome, Americano was full of flavors! Make sure to try the Tomato Sauce Eggs on the weekend brunch menu.

Try to get a smile or kind word out of the people who work here. I dare you. You'll fail, no doubt. To kick the stakes up a notch, try for a smile after asking for a straw for your iced coffee.

Always busy and not a lot of space but you can get their amazing vacuum pot here! If the inside has a long line, try the little kiosk outside to save time.

Truly excellent coffee. They put a lot of care into making each cup and it definitely shows. The brunch menu is also an often overlooked treasure, just don't expect seating for more than 2-3 people.

Fancier than philz. Usually lighter roast than peets or philz. Originally from Oakland! Very knowledgeable staff. A lot snobs like me like to go here

This one sees quite a bit of a queue, likely due to the more accessible location. Indoor sitting is limited and quite warm. I'd recommend to-go only. Try other BB spots for a better experience.

Go here for a decent cup of coffee, but I would encourage you to try Special Xtra for a better espresso

Best espresso in the city. Get it from the San Marco machine. Staff is very friendly and incredibly knowledgable. Steven was the best!

The coffee is truly worth waiting for. No need for a double latte, one is nice and strong. Food is limited, but good.

They just "get" coffee. Starbucks has its silly Clover coffee machine while Blue Bottle has its cold brew system that requires a Phd in particle science to operate by hand. Spend .25 more on the Kyoto

The Acme toast here is insane. I know it seems pricey.. But it's the best slice of bread an butter you'll find downtown. Even better with a poached egg on top.

Get a cortado. It's like a small, strong latte (unlike in Spain where it's mostly espresso with a 'stain' of milk).

Two notes about buying beans here: 1) You don't have to wait in line if you're only getting beans, just go up to the register. 2) They will not grind it for you.

Breakfast sandwich is serviceable (bacon is good) but a bit too oily. Frittata is also too dense. Better than many but not top notch.
