This coffee and doughnut shop makes a great addition to your breakfast rotation; just know that the sandwiches, like the fried chicken and five-spice duck sliders, may just bring you back for dinner.
Excellent park if you need an afternoon off from day-drinking. Don't miss Bird Island; it really lives up to the name.
There's usually a cover, but they've got the best booze on Frenchmen St, and the tunes are great. Once you've paid the cover you can come and go as you like (with your beverage in a to-go cup).

Great band first half of the night, very much NOLA jazz. Second half was a live band doing pop music. The crowd loved it, so I guess it worked. For that type of music, I rather turn on a radio though
Beautiful no matter what time of the day you stop by. Walk around Jackson Square and look at all of the art people are selling, they have so much talent.
Huge fountain in the front of the park is one of my favorite places in the city!

The insectarium is below the us customs house so to enter you have to go through an check point and knives and other wepions are banned because it's in an federal government building.
Worth checking out if yer on Bourbon St. They say it's oldest bar in the US (1772, pre-independence!) tho I think there's 3-4 other bars claiming the same. Would be classier w/out the ATM & jukebox.
