All the food is amazing. It's a true foodie experience. The chef takes you through his food as if it's art work. Order the spare ribs and Ruben apps. The beet salad is also gorgeous.
Come here if you are serious about. We missed the fried chicken because we did not make a reservation but all the stuff we tried was amazing. Especially hen egg with truffle and prosciutto.
What an AWESOME restaurant to visit. If you're looking for more NightLIFE after an evening with the Carmel fuddy duddy's THIS is the place to visit. Food is served 'til 10-10:30 & drinks 'til 1-1:30am
Go for Happy Hour! Prices are right & it has a great atmosphere if you just want a quick drink, truffle popcorn & some cheddar bacon biscuits. If you stay for dinner, that's a plus!
Come here ravenous so you can make it through the whole dining experience...drinks, appetizers, entree, and dessert. You want to make sure you get the whole dining experience here.
Food and cocktails were great as was service, but be warned: on weekends at 10pm 1833 may suddenly transform into a hoppin' nightclub. Fun, but maybe not what you want during an intimate meal for two.
Try their bourbon pudding! Not to be missed! Lamb shank was soft n moist, but could use some more flavor. Sea bass was small but good, and could use some salt!

"Monterey residents are rejoicing, because Bernahl and Weakley have just opened Restaurant 1833 in the historic Stokes Adobe building." As seen in Town & Country, October 2011, page 46
I'd come for drinks, but the food isn't very impressive for the price point. The Salmon and Octopus were solid, but nothing to ride home about. Apparently the executive chef changed over a year back.
Pretentious owner group with a very overrated restaurant. The US generic food supply truck is there regularly. Fancy cocktails, a lot of fried, unhealthy, not too local food.
