Delicious fresh seafood and a nice view overlooking the ocean. Not very expensive and not too touristy either. Grab a cab from the city -- would be around 20 SGD give or take.
One of the not too touristy places to have good local flare like Satay, bbq seafood and chicken wings. Plus you get to take a lovely stroll by the beach after your meal.
Fried Hokkien Mee shootout. Sampled A) Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle #01-21, & B) Geylang 29 Fried Hokkien Mee #01-32. Dish from B had more 'wok hei' (smokiness) & chilli more complex & flavourful
Delightful setting for a hawker center. I was here for a weekday lunch and it was quiet. I'm sure dinners and weekends are a different story. Check out Roxy (#01-48) for an interesting take on laksa.
My favorite hawker centre. Large, crowded but not cramped, great selection, many stallsopen late. And some great carrot cake, satay, stingray, and other standby dishes.
The geylang lorong 29 fried hokkien mee is very good. Slightly wet, rich flavour. Popiah a few stalls to the left is also good. Get the young Thai coconuts too. Sweet and tender flesh. Laksa is ok.
Rojak. We were hungry. Rojak dish from East Coast Rojak #01-20 were gobbled up in minutes. Century egg added a unique dimension. Toasted cuttlefish were crispy & aromatic👍🏼
Stall 11's Lala uses chilli crab sauce - spicy and tasty. Stingray's chilli was super spicy and nice too. Seafoodegg - prawn and sotong are huge and fresh. Kangkong is not bad too.
Well try some fish or sea food! Also try satay! It is next to the sea, nice place but really horribly far from the city, took us ages to get there! Once enought!
Chillax weekday late night dinner spot after work appt at East Coast. Matching BBQ Chicken Wings with Porridge & Egg ordered from the most inside food stalls & carried to the seats facing sea ;-)
Braised Pork Trotters with tender meat & appropriate texture of collagen. Yumz, no wonder so popular among the weekdays lunch crowd @ Han's Bak Kut Tehstall.
Supper by the breezyseaside: Satay, BBQ Chicken Wings, La La, Coconut Drink & MuarSugar Cane Juice; but still very crowded during late night on Saturday.
One of the first street foods in Singapore. Satay consists of marinated skewers of meat, grilled and served with a peanut sauce. Order10 at a time, you won't be able to eat just one.
Wantan noodles. Hwa Kee #01-45 is a popular stall. Excessive serving of 'char siew' (BBQ pork) overwhelmed the plate with sweetness. Wantans themselves were forgettable
Stall 36 has the most irritating old man ever. Do not sit near there if you want peace during yr meal. Or you can buy from him since he said you will strike 4D first prize tmr aft eating. Lol
BAK KUT TEH at Stall no.42 serves tender bak kut the pork ribs and trotter. Food that are tasty, usually comes with high cholesterol. If you are not so health concious, you may want to try some.
A pain to get to , but really awesome food. Try the popiahstall near the ATM , the chicken wingstall near the main entrance, and the satay from pretty much any of the stalls.
Fishball noodles: 1 of our fave is stall #01-08 East Coast Lagoon Fishball Noodle. Bouncy fishballs! But depending on ur luck, mee kia/pok can sometimes come overcooked
you should try the beefkway teow @ lagoon leng kee beefkway teow. #01-33 and right beside it is an awesome fried oysteromlettestall. This is all you'll need for a wonderful meal.
Since you're here. Why not try stall 11 seafood? It's real nice. The boss there is friendly & jokeable. As well as my boyfriend that working there ! ;D
