Battersea Bridge

The best views of Battersea, sweeping left to the city and out right towards Chelsea and beyond.

Until it was rebuilt in 1887, this was London’s last wooden bridge and was the subject of many paintings, including by Turner, Grimshaw and Whistler (statue at north end of bridge).

It was great. It took me from the north side of London to the south side of London.

If you're catching a bus northbound it's often quicker to walk over the bridge in rush hour!

Watch out for cyclists

The traffic here on a weekday morning is absolutely terrible.
