Awesome place that needs lots of time to see.. Be sure to talk to the docents! Many have worked on and/or flown the things you are seeing. (And don't eat before the simulator!!)
Apollo 9 Command Service Module, call sign "Gumdrop" is on display here. Gumdrop was the first named spacecraft since the first manned Gemini mission. The crew picked Gumdrop, because of the shape.
One of the best Air museums there is. If you haven't been there, make it a to-do. San Diego has a very rich aeronautic history and this place will tell you all about it.

If you've been to the Air & Space Museums in DC, then this one is worth skipping. The collection is much smaller here and not worth the money to get in.
