1. Prim
Ray Hartjen: Upscale shop catering from MILF soccer mom's to the soccer players themselves.
2. M.Y. China
3. Press Club
Ray Hartjen: Upscale beer and wine spot. Big area, great for groups. Think bottle service, only with wine instead of liquor. Very Bay area.
4. 55 South
Ray Hartjen: A good spot on the downtown San Jose cocktail bar circuit. No trendy decor, just dive bar feel with good specialty cocktails.
5. Towne Center Books
Ray Hartjen: Old school bookstore. Friendly staff and quaint store makes you want to shop there. Last of its kind!
6. Perbacco
Ray Hartjen: Menu changes daily. Great food, great value, and great service. Wines are better than specialty cocktails.
7. Hudson Grille
Ray Hartjen: Good service, close to arena, stadium and Olympic Park. Wide choice on menu.
8. Fuzzy's Taco Shop
Ray Hartjen: Great tacos, great prices. Try their hot sauce, and don't forget the queso.
9. Joe T. Garcia's
Ray Hartjen: Fort Worth institution. You will wait in a pretty long line on a Friday or Saturday. Try the fajitas. Sit in the fabulous garden.
10. Steel City Pops
Ray Hartjen: Give coffee a shot, you'll like it. The Arnold Palmer is good on a hot day.

13. Gotta Eatta Pita
14. Sweetwater Tavern & Grille

Ray Hartjen: Potatoes are great, and definitely try the octopus if it's on the menu. But, bring your big wallet - it's pricey.
17. Rodeo Goat
Ray Hartjen: Great burgers and lots of great beers on tap. Crowded, but the wait moves quickly.
18. Amon G. Carter Stadium
Ray Hartjen: A great place to watch a college football game. Top grade stadium.
19. Ray Benson's Roadhouse
20. Iron Cactus Mexican Restaurant and Margarita Bar
Ray Hartjen: Pricey, but probably worth it. Grilled fish tacos are good, but with fries? Tamale pops - yes!
21. Darwin's Pub
Ray Hartjen: A cool place to take a break from mid-day heat and enjoy a cold Shiner draft. Phillips cheesesteak sandwich is surprisingly good.
22. Lonesome Dove Western Bistro
Ray Hartjen: Interesting variety of not-so-usual foods, like rattlesnake, rabbit and elk. Try 'em!
23. Cable Car Clothiers
Ray Hartjen: Old school gentleman's clothier and barbershop. Great selection of hats and other accessories. Pricey. But, expert service.
24. Belden Taverna
25. Murphy's Pub
Ray Hartjen: Solid little Boston Irish pub. Drinks ate better than the food, but to be expected from a pub, right?
26. The Irish Bank
Ray Hartjen: Great place for a beer with friends. Outdoor seating available too.
27. Forge Pizza
28. Pick 6
Ray Hartjen: Good food and atmosphere. Great spot for watching games with groups as friends.
29. Signia by Hilton San Jose
Ray Hartjen: Classic hotel luxury in the heart of San Jose. The lobby bar is a nice place for a happy hour meeting.
30. Best Western Plus King's Inn & Suites
Ray Hartjen: Nice stop on Route 66, but make plans to wake early - the housekeepers are out early, and their carts rattle off the sidewalk like freight cars.
