For the city’s freshest selection of oysters, head downstairs to the beloved Oyster Bar, which has been serving up briny shellfish (and chowders and fresh fish) under a vaulted tiled roof for decades.

Do you know there is Tennis court on one of the floors of Grand Central? Maybe the 4th floor? Open to the public. Vanderbilt courts of something. Courts are affordable by 10pm.
Billy Taggart tails Paul Andrews through Grand Central Station and boards a train with him in Broken City (2013) as Paul travels to meet the Mayor's wife in a secluded beach house.
The tours are well worth it. Meet in the Station Master's office, try to see the glass catwalks, hear all the terminal's secrets. Even as a local, I learned a ton. Really enjoyed it.
Must visit place in New York. Many may miss out this iconic building. Beautiful structure and an extra visit to the Apple Store located inside as well.

The constellation ceiling and the pretty Beaux Artsarchitecture is truly one of a kind in NYC. It's becoming a dying, rare breed unfortunately to have such buildings around.
Look for the corner of the whispers (or it’s called something like that). Great view. If you need to rest, go to the Dinning court and you’ll find good options.
The terminal above may be beautiful, but there's art underground as well! Artist Dan Sinclair created two gear-like pieces to reflect the hustle and bustle of the station.
Even if you don't need to pass through this station, it's worth a trip just to see it. Gorgeous, filled with history, amazing to see all the people entering from various directions. Apple store too.
In the heart of the city; always busy and always crowded. Very big hub for both N and S bounds. Very touristic. Good restaurants are available inside. Metro stops as well other than intercity trains.
In 12/12, the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar completed a $450K renovation, in time for GC's 2013 centennial. 200 Gustavino tiles were replaced and 1600 re-set in the 2300-sq-ft gallery.
It's not just a station! You can get lost in this amazing piece of American history and with a nice food court downstairs its a good meeting spot in New York.
Always get breakfast at Grand Central Market. The service is glacial and the staff are far from friendly, but for a grab and go egg sandwich and iced tea for the trip it's the way to go.
Lots of hidden gems in this bustling mass transit hub. The food options are good and the shops are sweet, including the markets. They also regularly host special events and displays. Take it all in.
Built from 1903-1913 GCT is a marvel of engineering and architecture. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service in 1976.
It's a station. but with it's history location and look it is a pretty cool spot for a visitor to NYC to check out. And hey! you could even actually get a train.
North America's premier squash championship at Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall. The tournament then moved to Grand Central Terminal in 1995. The tournament runs through January 24.
Has appeared in more movies than Kevin Bacon including The Bone Collector, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Friends With Benefits, Men In Black and Superman.
Wonderful to live in the northern suburbs and arrive to and leave from Grand Central. :) Always something going on here! Never forget to check out Vanderbilt Hall, there are always events there.
I've never been although I hear it's a site to be seen. Definitely on my 4SQ check-in "bucket list". A beautiful short was filmed there by a close friend of mine, check out "Flutter By" on Vimeo
A must visit place in NYC 😍 you see history, architecture, civilization, modern services .. shops and restaurants .. the Dome where you talk with other ones from separate corners .. lots of fun 😍
Everyone's favorite "world's largest railway station...twinkling fiber-optic constellations" (above me) "60 ingenious railroad tracks" (below me). Could walk it all day.
Stand in awe as you look at the magnificent ceilings and the hustle and bustle of the world coming through this one historic hub. It's your moment. Take a picture.
A glorious park that is just the right size for the city, ringed by (mostly) great architecture that interacts pleasingly with the park's views of nature. A mini-Centra Park, if you will.
This beautiful Beaux-Arts train terminal is the nation’s biggest transit hub. Be sure to check out the enormous main concourse , with its oversized windows and pristinely painted ceiling.
Not as painful as Penn, but please Tourists, for the love of God, stand to the side to take your photos! I get that it's gorgeous, but I still have a job and meeting to get to!
"Lift up your eyes from the moving hive and you will see time circling, under a vault of stars and you will know just when and where you are." Grand Central by Billy Collins & MTA's Poetry in Motion.
The Queen of train stations in the city. Come by and look up at the roof and Windows in the main hall. The lower dining concourse offers everything from burgers to oysters to healthy fare.
My first being here in centuries, but came here only in 2019 which is kinda cool. It’s pretty much a train station and a place too look around. I never expected a cool place in NYC!
A must for me on every trip to NYC. If you have time, take the audio tour. It takes about an hour and is so worth it. You'll learn so much. Then have a cocktail after and people watch!
