The Bowdoin Orient: The President’s Dining Room features a series of paintings by Professor of Art Mark Wethli, taken from a series of geometrical abstractions Wethli has been working on since 2009.
The Bowdoin Orient: These six engravings—“Marriage A La Mode,” by 18th-century British artist William Hogarth—hang in of the office of English professor Ann Kibbie. They depict a tumultuous arranged marriage.
The Bowdoin Orient: This mural is a creation of Professor Wethli, his Painting I class of 2000, and dozens of volunteers. Originally a temporary installment while the library was being renovated.
The Bowdoin Orient: On the wall across from the entrance is a nail installation created by Professor of Art John Bisbee. “I’m not sure what it is; I’m never really sure what I do,” said Bisbee.
The Bowdoin Orient: The third floor houses numerous works by Cassie Jones ’01. Installed in 2009, her pieces, which are painted with acrylic on Dura-Lar, are linked by her creative use of patterns and bright colors.
