    Compared to the overpriced, waiting-line-only affairs you'll find a few miles north, the Big Sur River Inn is a quaint, old-California establishment with good people, tasty food and happy living.

    If you're staying at the inn, the beds are super comfy. If you're eating at the restaurant, the gaucho steak hits the spot.

    This place has nice rooms overlooking the Big Sur River. Quiet and isolated, the inn boasts not having any TV or phone services, but it's funny that I can still get WiFi internet service here.

    This is a cute place, great restaurant. The rooms are loud (next to highway) but I wouldn’t let that deter you.

    The potato skins were good. Thr Roasted eggplant is a misleading name for what the dish actually looks and tastes like. But enjoyed both these starters.

    the food was ok nothing great. the calamari was not fresh. only highlight is the tables in the river where you can take your togo food

    We stopped at the Big Sur inn, but were treated very poorly by the hostess. The manager offered no apology and his final comment to us was "this restaurant is not suitable for people like you"
