Mike Toscano is a terrifically intellectual chef who does delicious things with Italian food. The place is a bit load and hip, but the food make it worth it.

Peter Endriss's breads and pastries are some of the best. It's a family business run and owned by Peter and his cousin Chris, the chef.
Great place to eat, have a biccheri or birrichino of wine, and rest your eyes from all the stimulation. Food is good. Really.
Terrific bread and pastries. Decent lunch options, if pricey and a bit heavy on the bread side. Coffee is drinkable, but nothing to write home about.
