Chiang Mai Bests

Amber: Put on bug spray and order a matcha. The garden is lovely. The matcha is strong. Oh, and the coconut/mango sticky rice is pretty solid but the quality seems to fluctuate.

Amber: Great late night option for rotee. The ladies who run the cart are really sweet and always smiling, and they work some serious magic with their rotee. Big fan of the condensed milk and milo.

Amber: The crispy pork that they serve here is on another level. Crispy, juicy, delicious. Limited menu otherwise, but that shouldn't matter because the pork is why you're here. Don't expect English.

Amber: The tea leaf salad was great and the Khao Soi (although vegetarian) looked solid. Profits go to Thai Freedom House to support refugees from Burma, providing education and a community resource center

Amber: Some of the best Khao Soi I've ever had and only 40 baht?? Incredible. The chicken leg was perfect, the curry rich, spicy and delicious. Get a Thai tea if you want something to balance out the heat

Amber: Was genuinely astonished to find donuts this good in Chiang Mai. They're not filled or particularly fancy, but they're tasty and addicting and stack up well against some of the best donuts in NYC.

Amber: Clean, quiet and with private rooms, this was my favorite massage house in Chiang Mai. Cheaper massage options exist, but the more relaxing experience here was well worth the extra ~100THB or so /hour

Amber: Western style farm-to-table cafe. Prices are higher than street food options but accompanied by higher quality ingredients and sustainable practices. Cute back yard.

Amber: If you like plants, this is a unique market to check out. Blocks and blocks of vendors selling everything from small house plants to full grown trees.

Amber: Best selection of souvenirs and a great place to people watch, get there early if you want smaller crowds.
