There are two ski rental shops here. One run by the resort charges 20 for cheap skis and the other charges 45!

For those of you who don't know, there is no snowboarding allowed in Alta. One of the reasons why I love this resort so very much. 10,550 feet, vertical drop of 2020 feet, 116+ runs!

Follow the skiers in Arcteryx jackets on traverses. They will show you the light. Just don't come to a dead stop on the traverse or else they'll show you the back of their glove.

Snowboarders are not allowed to take the lift, but if you board over from Snowbird, you can slide down the mountain.

Racial minorities are much more likely to snowboard rather than ski, probably the underlying reason Alta is the last place in the world that bans it.

snowboarder? Access this skier only resort through the mt baldy gate off snowbird. Be prepared for some hate on the way down!
