The Getty Center offers a substantial collection of art pieces including sculptures, paintings, stencils, photography, and is an almost unique place to look at the whole of Los Angeles at once.
Allot a whole day for this to make the most out of the stay. The Getty not only has beautiful artworks but a spectacular view as well. Also a great place to read and relax.
Beautiful grounds, breathtaking views of the city, great museum. The Getty Center also has musicperformances. I saw Sharde Thomas & the Rising Stars Fife and Drum Band. They were amazing!
Good selection of artworks and artifacts. Only takes a couple of hours to see everything. Your car park ticket can be exchange for free parking at the Getty villa.
Beautiful views and the museum has a great collection. The lawn by the Garden is great for sitting down and having a picnic, or a short break. Can't wait to go back
The most beautiful and picturesque art museum I have ever been to. The location could not be more perfect. The art displayed here is beautiful but the views steal the show.
The museum's official Sketching Gallery encourages guests to literally draw inspiration from traditional art pieces. Guests can work with an easel or at a shared table, and it's complimentary.
This is a "wow" place to visit more than once, to peruse & enjoy: stunning gardens, interesting architecture, great views of the coastline & spectacular artexhibits.
This may very well be my new favorite museum. The architecture is beautiful. Go before noon, beat the crowd! Cafe has delicious food if a little pricy.
Hanging out at the Getty museum is one of my favorite things to do in LA. The garden is gorgeous, the views are to die for and its an excellent place to snap some great photos.
The views of LA are a thing of beauty! Such an enjoyable atmosphere. IF you need to get around LA without a car, use the UBER app. If you use the code: UBERNEF you get $20 on your first ride!
I felt enriched by the exhibits - particularly the paintings and home decor. Beautiful lawn and sculptures. Great view. Can go wrong. Free. $15 parking
Beautiful! The café is actually quite good, and has a lovely view. If you're on a budget, you can bring a lunch and eat out in the lawns overlooking the garden and with a panoramic view of LA.
Place was awesome.. Very cool and sleek and clean..art was off the wall. wasnt too crowded for us on a thanksgiving day weekend visit. raining cats and dogs that weekend too.
Thrilled to have them open. I am vaccinated, stayed masked, and felt very safe. Inside is always tricky. Not every guest is mindful. But they've done a good job with keeping numbers lower.
fantastic setup, visitors familiar with European museums may not be surprised by the content. Get there early (b 10am) to avoid parking access queues. follow sign-posted route, not googlemap.
If you're interested in architecture, especially Meier, take the architectural tour (usually every hour). The guides are very knowledgeable, although this tour does last for 1h, so budget accordingly.
Not a museum person, was required to go for a class, went alone and ended up having one of the best days! Museum was gorgeous & interesting. Great thing to try if you want some culture in your life!
Stellar collections; the museum’s location is breath-taking with panoramic views of the city. The tram, courtyard and architecture feel like an experience straight out of a bond film.
The best museum I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot of museums. It has great views from up above, the gardens are beautiful, the building is crazy, and the art collection is fantastic.
Probably one of the most beautiful and exciting places to know in LA. And free. And works. Try to spend a spring afternoon and have some wine on the grass. Relaxing.
One of the finest museums in LA. Rent an audio player for added information on displays. Explore the grounds and always check out the interactive displays scattered throughout each exhibit.
Great museum, take the highlights tour at 11 am. It is free for the public and has great views of Los Angeles. The buildings have a very interesting and modern architecture
If you want a huge musseum with fabulous artworks from all periods (since classics to moderns), with an espectacular view of LA valley, and FREE admition, you are in the right place :) Enjoy!
Everything. The museum is an architectural masterpiece, with many “hidden” but obvious design elements that both surprise and challenge your sense of sight.
Breathtaking views, romanticgardens and patios, plenty of picnic lawn and table spaces ... Pack a snack and come up in the later afternoon to watch the sunset.
A great way to spend the day. Have a cozypicnic on the lawn, take amazing photos of surrounding city and/or architecture, and walk through the galleries to explore the many pieces on display.
I've been there and the place is awesome!! incredible arts & view..and they have an incredible garden.. Wow.. If you love the arts and you like to know a relaxing place... Getty Museum is the place...
Park early then walk the 3/4mi up alongside the tram to grab a coffee atop your own private hilltop retreat. Then take the 11am Collection Highlights tour.
The Getty Center in Brentwood has an impressive collection of works from as early as before the 20th century. You'll find Van Gogh's Irises here, and also don't miss the huge Central Garden. Free.
A wonderful place to spend the day or evening for that matter! Bring a picnic lunch/dinner and $15 for parking. Don't want to bring food, dining options are great too. An amazing place.
The J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center in Los Angeles houses European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, and European and American photographs.
