Kitayama was such a great place for dates few years back. The furnitures are a bit worn out, but the court yard still pretty. Most surprising was their vegan option! Very innovative and delicious.
Great service. Chefs were great. If you order amai ebi (sweet shrimp), the chef twist off the head in front of you to show freshness, but I also lost my appetite and won't order amai ebi ever again.
Steak was good. The appetizers were decent. Beer on par. Lots of people during happy hour. Good service. However, nothing exciting in this Houston. Parking not great. For the price, I'd go Bistango.

One of the most comprehensive Japanese buffets. It has sushi, sashimi, yakitori, ramen, taiyaki, oden, tempura, rice cakes, and fruits. Much better choice than Cafe (buffet) on the first floor.
Just look at the rolls!!! The question you should be asking is how many of those deliciousness you'll be ordering! Nem Nuong Cuon is the staple on every table. Rice dishes are great too!
Spicy Miso is my favorite as it has the most complex flavors than just shoyu, shio, or misplaced. Order the combo if you are hungry and want something other than just noodle and soup!
For a short weekend trip, take the subway into the city! You can buy special weekend 3-days unlimited pass from the information counter. Very useful if you will take the subway a lot on your trip!

Great place for your special anniversaries! The restaurant is quiet but lively, especially at happy hour. This is not the happy hour for college kids. Food was VERY good. Must try chocolate souffle.
Although there will be less crowded here on the weekdays, the people is what makes Sanxia Old Street fun. Make sure to take your time and walk around the surrounding areas as well! Great half day trip
Must come here when in Sanxia! Indigo dye is a very popular here. Every year there is an Indigl Dye Festival. At the Center, you can design and make your own indigo, scarf, or shirts. Great for family
Nice Taiwanese bakery spreadout through LA. However, this location also serves like a restaurant. One of my favorite is the Taiwanese Breakfast Burger. The perfect melt of sweetness and savory. YUM.
A small eatery at the end of Sanxia Old Street. Serves traditional street food. Pictured: rice noodle soup, fried tofu, and stewed stinky tofu. Remember to add white pepper powder on rice noodle soup!
Great lunch combo selections. Four to five course meal (starter, soup, salad, main course, drink, and dessert)! Great value if you you're not in a hurry and want something different/special.
Great little cafe at Tianzifang. The coffee is great but for around the same price I was able to get a GREAT value lunch combo (tamago, rice, soup, and coffee)! Perfect for a lazy afternoon.
Must get their shaved ice! Their red bean with fruits bingsoo sure hits the spot on this hot summer day. Their coffee was okay, but very quiet location. Great for studying. Can reserve private room.

Loved Honey Pig in Buena Park. Love the place in Irvine. However, better to come with a group of friends so you can try different meat types and veggies. Pork belly never disappoints! Great kimchi too
The menu has ample Korean dish choices. Decent galbitang, almost rivaled Tang 190. However, always smells like cleaning agent/bleach. I guess that's what makes it authentic. Good side dishes.
Not a huge fan of wet BBQ sauce as they are usually too sweet for me. However, Lucille's is pretty good. BBQ chicken and briskets were juicy and flavorful. I would definitely get the combo plate!
I really like their nachos! Perfect snack food to take home and have with beer. This place definite satisfies my random cravings! Also, I would definitely order pork over steaks (dry and tough).
