This is the real deal. Very popular so you may have to queue at busy times, but they move quickly. Try the pizza Montecarlo, which is a capriciosa with a few extra toppings.
Great selection of salumi, entire prosciutto leg, etc. some of it vacuum pre-packed to help bringing back home with you.

One of the best in Rome. No artificial flavors or colors. Subtle tastes, not overwhelming or cloyingly sweet. Try the "flavors of the month".
Definitely worth a stay on your first visit to Rome. Since the 14th century. Arriosto stayed there. But rather pricey.
Amazing wine selection. The wine list is actually a book about 4" (10cm) thick. Ask the staff for recommendations.
Great little bar in Trastevere. A screen plays old-timey B&W movies. Friendly staff. Even more friendly big fluffy white dog!
Tonnarelli al'astice (pasta with lobster) highly recommended. Bring cash: despite the credit card signs on the window, they only take cash (€72 for lunch for 2... a bit pricey).
Very nice supplí here. It's street food but they're especially nicely made here.
