Uber trendy NYC style, a dive like place in a basement. BUT the ramen is legendary. Long wait but so well organized and such fun! Everybody waits cheerfully for their turn to sample the exquisiteness!
Chicken Paitan Ramen: A chicken-pork both, wavy blond noodles like the hair of a '40s matinee queen, a hot-as-shit separately ordered condiment to be used sparingly, and a potential side of avocado. อ่านข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม
I had to forego meat the day I came here, and the vegetarian ramen is very satisfying. It has all kinds of veggies and mushrooms in a very flavorful broth (loved the addition of yuzu paste).
This place is good and people know it! I arrived a few minutes before open on a weekday and it was packed! Small wait but well worth it! Delicious ramen and fantastic service!
So New York it hurts! But it hurts so good. Half a level down, exposed brick on one side, cozy counter on the other and NY hip hop blasting. With only a handful of tables, come early or come very late
Ahmazingly delicious food...One of the few places in NYC that serves vegetarian ramen.... Try the spicy ramen with seasoned hard boiled egg topping...20-45 minute wait to get in is totally worth it...
OMG!! puzzled by little white chips floating on top of MegaChickenPaitan bowl, I dipped my sppon and sipped. The flavor of those garlic buds stayed with me all evening, Won't say more - Just Do it !
The noodles from the mega ramen is so good! Also, get the extra spicy ramen over the spicy ramen. The spicy ramen had the spicy sauce on the size which allows you to customize the spice level.
Fantastic ramen. The wait time is nothing. They take your order while you wait so ramen is ready by the time you sit. Also you can drink standing room by the bar. Spicy ramen is spicy!! Yum.
Got the chicken paitan and added an egg and bean sprouts. The bowls are huuuuge, none of us could finish completely. The broth is DE-licious & noodles are perfectly cooked. Music was pretty loud.
Had an amazing experience. We had the Totto Spicy with chicken (we wished we would have gotten pork instead) cabbage seasoned boiled egg, fried garlic, corn, spicy bamboo shoots (beware) GREAT!
spicy ramen + an egg = heaven! quick service, delicious ramen in your tummy; it's a recipe for happiness! while you're waiting, stop by kahve around the corner for some great coffee :)
Quick and affordable, the 52nd Street location is much larger than the original and offers more selection of ramen. The broth here is chicken based and so rich that it is almost opaque. อ่านข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม
Spicy Paitan Ramen. Add-Ons: Kikurage Mushroom and Seasoned Boiled Egg (Aji Tamago). Plus Ramune Carbonated Soda just like a kid. Long queue, worth the wait if you're a ramen lover.
Ramen Nirvana. No-Nonsense bowls with nothing but amazing noodles, hand-torched char siu, succulent pulled pork, and a broth so flavorful you'll lose all sense of time & place. Thanksgiving in a bowl?
Spicy ramen is best. The secret is a chile oil filled w. garlic, onion, dried shrimp & scallops. It's ladled on top of paitan broth, firm noodles, 2 hunks of fatty pork, scallion, bean sprouts & nori.
I had a chicken ramen and it was delicious! The whole place reminded me of Japan so much! The only downside is that it is very crowded and you are very "subtly" reminded to be fast with your food.
Oishi!!! Perfect noodle firmness, tasty broth. For smaller appetites, the Mega Paitan can be shared. We added egg and also corn, which gave a good, mild "corny"kick. The pork buns are also yummy!!
Excellent lunch spot! My friend arrived an hour early on a Sat. to put our name on the list, so we were the first people seated when it opened after a 5-minute wait. The chicken ramen was top-notch!
Amazing how thick & meaty the paitan broth is. I went on a freezing cold night, got it w./ spicy oil, and it was just perfect. Note: they won't seat your party if all the members aren't present.
Listen to some Kanye West while having the best Ramen, you've ever eaten. I wanna name my dog after this place! Yeezus, this is so good, there is no Tip which could explain it. Must have. Instant cry.
The line outside is people who have already put their name on the list. So put your name on the list before waiting in line. Otherwise, some of the best ramen I've had in NYC. Worth the wait? Maybe.
There's a pretty long wait after you write your own name down on the list at the door. But it's worth it! Food is great. Atmosphere is brilliant. I've read this is the best Japanese in New York City!
I’ve been to more ramen spots in NYC than I care to share and Totto is still by far the best spicy ramen I’ve had to date! Lines are long but it’s worth it!
You better be hip to the fact that you need to order before you sit down or you risk losing your spot to the folks behind you on the list. Maybe the best ramen broth ever.
Delicious bowl of ramen. Paitan broth is incredibly flavorful. Put your name down and go grab a drink - because there definitely will be a wait (30 minutes minimum).
The place is cash only and can't seat more than 4 together. Write your name on the check-in list at the door as soon as you get there! Finally, the spicy Ramen isn't that spicy, so don't worry.
Go for the standard Paitan Ramen. The broth is so rich and flavorful, it doesn't need the heat. The boiled egg is great, with a soft yolk. Poached egg has runny yolk-save it for the end of the bowl!
If you like spicy, get the spicy bamboo shoots rather than the sauce (that way you can still taste the flavor of the broth). And nigori sake is the best, it's what the chefs drink when you buy a round
Tasty and really good, though it is not my favorite. Cucumber sliced is worth trying instead the classic pair of buns. Don't be scared of the spicy Totto is not that spicy but make the broth better.
A partially underground soup den that would be easy to pass by if not for the massive crowd of people regularly spilling out onto its steps. Pro tip: Go for the extra spicy version —SC
Def one of my fav ramen places in the city. I love that they use chicken broth. It's lighter and def flavorful. Have patience, it's very crowded. But def worth the wait
Order while you're waiting so you won't have to wait longer at your table. Believe me, the ramen is incredibly filling (the Mega Ramen especially) and well worth the wait.
I've frequented Ippudo, Minca, Ramen Ya and the newly opened Zundo Ya over the course of 3 years. Nothing beats Totto's hearty yet well-balanced broth. I order more noodles just to soak it up.
Small with long lines but well worth the wait. You will enjoy some delicious noodles, some that are charred in front of you. Go for the Totto Spicy Ramen, if you dare!
Miso ramen with pork is phenomenal. Get the side of spice sauce to add you own heat, and don't forget the pork buns. You'll wait for a table, but service is fast.
Spicy Ramen was excellent. We arrived at six and there was already a queue, just add your name to the list on the front door and wait nearby, the food is worth it.
Tasting Table's Top Ramen NYC: Chicken paitan ramen "a rich chicken broth, excellent house-made noodles and great toppings including chashu that's torched before your eyes"
Superb Ramen with great depth of flavour. Empty bowl :-) Great atmosphere. Arrive early as the line can be long. Great attention to detail ref dietary issues.
It's fantastic that this place has so many chicken-based options, unlike most ramen houses which only use pork-based broth. Also the Extra Spicy Ramen is definitely one to try.
