Mat Nichol: Great if your in the area or on the way to Skye. Possibly the most iconic castle in Scotland. Go early and avoid the crowds.

Francis Devriendt: Overwhelming nature - The most exciting sunset ever in my life - although staying overnight is not allowed ;-) - please keep clean

Katie Farquhar: Beautiful loch - makes a super day trip from Inverness. Visit Urquhart castle or just drive round.

Colin Jackson: It's free. It's huge. It's nicely done and it's interesting.

Emily Webber: The youth hostel campsite is tents only. The beach with the stump is lovely for campervans. The hiking trail next to it leads to town and you can use the loos and showers at the youth hostel campsite.

Emily Webber: The facilities are great, there is even a campers kitchen with gas stoves. The beach is amazing and views are stunning

Dermott: One of the nicest beaches in Scotland (maybe the UK) - if the sun is shining come and camp on the cliffs above the beach.

Neha G: If you're taking the train from fort William sit on the left hand side for better views of the loch and the viaduct

Wouter Buckens: If you're in for a short walk (~1h), go to the station a bit further down the road. Hidden behind the café car starts a path along the hillside, offering beautiful views on the lake and the viaduct.

Timothy Foster: Beautiful - it takes about one and a half hours to walk the trails (at a quick pace), but leave yourself 3 or 4 - and take a decent camera with lots of batteries and SD cards (or film!)

Hugo Gill: Lovely place .. just go there and stop by for a cup of tea at old mateys place on the way back.

Iain Macrae: Worth the visit with excellent audio guide and historic items back past Bonnie Prince Charlie. Add it to your visit list
