This is not a true gastropub. Ordinary wine list and meals just OK for a country pub but I'd avoid the Thai Green Chicken Curry.
Get the $65 banquet but don't fill up on dips and bread (as delicious as they are!) because there's so much more to come! They'll bring seconds of anything you like. BYO wine $10 corkage.
I was sad that Hippopotamus was missing the ceiling track of hippos to the restaurant, but the dinner and room were all spectacular as was the check-in staff. Shame about the lobby bar staff.

When you want a burger that's low carb this is the place. Helpful staff but I hate that ordering at the table QR code thing. Counter service would be nice.
Well organised festival and great blooms. Shame people have to walk amongst them and ignore the signs. The food on offer is a little unhealthy, but go the gozleme ... it's super delicious!
The smaller plates here are surprisingly good and it made for a pretty darn delicious lunch. Book for dinner as it's often booked out as it's one of the few non-Asian places around.
OMG I love this place. Go often and buy up big with all sorts of Turkish and Middle Eastern delights. Support local and grab yourself a bargain!
Very helpful and friendly staff, willing to let you pick their brains for hair colour and technique. Appreciative of the colour matching service too.
Go the Truffle Potato Pig Pizza... so good with an amazing semolina base. The food is incredibly authentic and good provincial Italian. Go once, go often!
Book ahead for this tiny16-seat gem. Best Cheese Souffle ever. Not cheap, but great quality so bring your wallet and support this lovely little restaurant.
Great tasting flight of wines in test tubes. Limited menu, but the Bel Sel Pinot is delicious and great value!!!
The Kantan Fried Chicken is amazing and Nasi Lemek is good too. Great little find in Fitzroy, BYO wine, and lovely service by authentic Malaysian family
Pretty good savoury crepes and a reasonable wine list (although the wine glasses are a bit awful). The waiter couldn't confirm if the sweet crepe was GF (it was very different) which was a concern.
One of the better Aldi's with loads more room which means they're often NOT out of stock. Free car parking (tight parks) with in-store ticket validation.
Great food, great people, great service. A little gem of a cafe. Tuck into an all-day breakfast or see what lunch specials are on. Outside seating. Easy parking.
AMAZING visit ... fantastic wines and great people. Love what they're doing in this part of Italy. A definite must-do for wine lovers. The Langhe Nebbiolo is incredible.
