Rooms are decent, but don't have any personality. Avoid the breakfast, because it is not worth the money. Don't forget to ask for a free public transport pass at the reception.

Don't do the whole inside of the castle. The 4th & 5th floor are not really special and the waiting lines are likely to be very long
While most temples in Japan are more intimate, this one is just impressive in all senses.

No need to walk to the end of the peer, but just walk around and read the different info panels. Very interesting place!
