Oakland Cemetery
Located less than a mile from the heart of downtown Atlanta. This garden cemetery, founded in 1850, is the final resting place of many of Atlanta's pioneers and notable citizens. It is the oldest cemetery in Atlanta and is one of the largest green spaces in the city. "The SW corner of the Peachtree & Marietta St intersection stood Jacobs' Pharmacy. On May 8, 1886, the first Coca-Cola fountain drink was sold here for only 5 cents. Dr Joseph Jacobs rests in Oakland."
