Visit during the weekend at night – you'll see a lot of indie musicians busking here. Heads up it's pretty dirty because it's such a lively area.
A relaxing photogenic area. You get a spectacular view of Han River and Seoul from here. You can even get food delivered!
Unfortunately some of the murals got removed, but still a lovely neighbourhood to visit. Amazing view of Seoul from above too.
The Mission / Williamsburg equivalent in Seoul. The main road offers great cafes, galleries, shops to visit. Definitely one of my favourites.
A neighbourhood with traditional homes. I'd recommend visiting here really early or later in the day – it gets really crowded with all the tourists.
If you ever wanted to experience underground shopping in Seoul, this is the one to go. It's right outside of Express Bus Terminal station.
Visit early on a weekday to avoid the crowd! Enjoy a cup of coffee / breakfast here with the best view of Bugaksan Mountain.
A hidden gem in Hongdae. Quite a walk from the station but it's worth! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty vegan dishes. Their tofu cheesecake is a must!
