You have to check backpacks, but if you're using it as a diaper bag, you can take it in if you wear it across your chest. If you look like a professional photographer, they *will* make you put your gear away. They now require a $50/day or $400/year pass to be a pro... and they *do* check.

Parking in the main lot and garage is $5 for the public, free for members. The north lot and outlying lots are still free.- Jason Johnsonมีนาคม 9, 2013Park at the Lilly House for free and enjoy the beautiful walk to the main museum.
The grounds are beautiful, great place for a picnic! LOTS of photographers and families/students/couples taking advantage of the photo ops, too.
